
Former England captain, Michael Vaughan has been amazed with the quality of performance Suryakumar Yadav has put in during the match, on Thursday. Apart from this, he also believes Suryakumar Yadav to be one of the best players of spin that he has ever seen.
With a huge 57 run victory against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Qualifier 1 on Thursday, Mumbai Indians (MI) entered the IPL finals of this season. Most half of the game was dominated by the defending champions.
Suryakumar Yadav smashed half-century in the game, with the involvement of Hardik Pandya and the youngster Ishan Kishan Mumbai Indians (MI) scored 200/5. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals (DC) Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult picked four wickets in the powerplay.
Michael Vaughan, in a chat show with Cricbuzz said that Suryakumar Yadav is a great player.
Michael Vaughan while talking on CricbuzzLive said, “I think he is a wonderful player. I go far as to say that he is up there with the best players I have ever seen against spin bowling. The way he can manoeuvre the ball around the ground, 360 degrees, against any of the spinners. He makes it look so easy. He plays good bowling well – he’s got the gift of making quick bowling slower, when they are now bowling slow,” Michael Vaughan added.
Michael Vaughan, believes Suryakumar is the best players of spin and has got the ability of turning the speed bowling into a slower one. Michael Vaughan is highly impressed by his quality of performance.
“He’s got calms about him – I like his body language, the way he plays. But the way he plays spin… there are not many better players against spin bowling than Yadav I have seen.
“There are lots of wonderful players for many, many years all around the world… but Yadav plays spin bowling as well as any of these players I have seen in the last 5-10 years,” Michael Vaughan asserted.
Suryakumar Yadav became the first uncapped Indian player to play 100 IPL matches and also the first uncapped Indian player to get to 2000 IPL runs.
