Kings XI Punjab have posted a humongous total of 223 runs at the loss of 2 wickets after 20 overs against the Rajasthan Royals.
Steve Smith won the toss and elected to bowl first, putting Kings XI to bat first in the match. Since the beginning of the innings it has been a stellar show put on by the Punjab openers. An opening partnership of 183 runs in 16 overs was enough to put Kings XI on the top at this game. Mayank Agarwal scored the second century of this edition’s IPL scoring 106 runs off just 50 balls smashing 7 sixes. The first century of this season was also scored by a Kings XI player in KL Rahul in their previous game. Captain KL Rahul played a magnificent supporting role to his opening partner scoring 69 runs off 54 balls.
Tom Curran managed to pick up the first wicket for the Royals of Agarwal, followed by the wicket of KL Rahul picked up by Ankit Rajput.
Rajasthan Royals have a fantastic top order with Jos Buttler, captain Steven Smith and Sanju Samson. They will be confident of chasing this total with the firepower they have, however it will take a special effort from the Royals players if that were to happen and it will surely be a superb game.
