Ravichandran Ashwin injured his shoulder during their first match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Ashwin picked two wickets in an over that he bowled, had dived to save a Glenn Maxwell shot and in the process he hurt his left shoulder.
Ravichandran Ashwin most probably is to miss the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as he is still healing from the injuries he suffered during the Delhi Capitals season opener. Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Shreyas Iyer ahead of the match against CSK revealed that, R Ashwin will be rested for two to three games before being available for selection. “Ashwin, I feel is doing pretty well, but we wanted to give him a 2-3 game rest so that he feels better. However R Ashwin is doing well but the Delhi Capitals (DC) team will wait for the Physio’s confirmation before taking any step.
On Friday, Ravichandran Ashwin came up with an Instagram video stating that he is totally fit and fine and ready to clash against teams.
R Ashwin is not the only one with injury. So far, Mumbai Indians’ Nathan Coulter-Nile and Royal Challengers Bangalore Chris Morris have suffered side strains even before playing a match. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Kane Williamson pulled his quadriceps muscles while training, Mitchell Marsh has also been out of the tournament due to an ankle injury. Chennai Super Kings’ Ambati Rayudu has suffered hamstring injury.
Delhi Capitals (DC) started their IPL 2020 campaign with a win against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) while Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won their first game against Mumbai Indian (MI). However, they lost to Rajasthan Royals in the second game.
