After having a booming start Delhi capitals had a turmoil towards the end of the league stage but they managed to make it to the finals of the IPL 2020. They have made it to their maiden IPL final and are just one step away from making history.
Dhiraj Malhotra, CEO of Delhi Capitals says that there was never any doubt in the camp about reaching the playoffs. “There was never any doubt in the team. We were just one match away from reaching the playoffs. Every team has its ups and downs in a tournament like this. We were trying a few new combinations, a few different things. But there was never any doubt in the management team or the coaching staff,” Malhotra told.
“Absolutely it’s a big advantage to have him in the dugout. His speeches are so inspiring for the boys. It gets them going. Having him in our team as the coach is a huge boost for us. He has got the experience. He has won more than he has lost. Ricky understands what it takes to win such events,” he said about having Ricky Ponting in the camp.
“If you look at the bigger picture, the whole world is watching the IPL. In the last two months, not many people are talking about the pandemic, which is a good thing. So we have to thank everyone involved.”
