ICC Women’s World Cup 2022: India knocked out of world cup; West Indies qualify for semis

India has been knocked out of the semifinals, resulting in the loss against South Africa. Australia, England, South Africa & West Indies have qualified for the world cup 2022 semifinals.

The nail-biting last-over finish by South Africa has ended the world cup campaign for India. Women in blue looked promising at the start of the tournament but their inconsistent run against the likes of Australia, England, and New Zealand, has knocked them out of the world cup 2022. Indian team, led by Mithali Raj, couldn’t qualify to the semi as the side lost its ‘do-or-die’ match against South Africa. Australia, South Africa, and England have already entered the semifinals of the world cup. West Indies will follow the list as the fourth contender to enter the semi-finals. Harmanpreet Kaur’s 48 runs while grabbing 2 crucial wickets brought the team in the match but the side couldn’t hold onto the match. India drifted away from the match after the side couldn’t grab the wicket of Mignon du Preez. South Africa chased the total with 3 wickets to spare in a nail-biting last-over finish, which became the second-highest chase in the world cup history.
