I think first couple of games were a learning curve for me and our team: Cameron Green on MI’s hattrick of wins after a tough start

Mumbai Indians’ campaign in the ongoing season of IPL 2023 got off to a rocky start with back-to-back defeats, but the team has since found its winning momentum with three consecutive victories. In their latest match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the five-time champions emerged victorious by 14 runs, thanks in part to the impressive performance of Australian all-rounder Cameron Green.

Green, who was signed for a whopping Rs 17.50 crore in the mini auction last year, first shone with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 64 runs from 40 balls after coming out to bat at No. 3. He then proved his worth with the ball, picking up the wicket of SRH skipper Aiden Markram and conceding only 29 runs in his four overs.

Reflecting on his performance, Green acknowledged that the first couple of games were a learning curve for him and the team, but was glad that their plans came off in the end. He also admitted that he was still a work in progress with his bowling at the death, suggesting that there is still room for improvement.

I think first couple of games were a learning curve for me and our team. Bit of a sticky situation (when I walked out to bat). But glad the plans came off. I am a work in progress with my bowling at the death. Obviously, we can continue with the winning momentum.

Despite their recent winning streak, Mumbai Indians are still outside of the playoff spots in the IPL 2023 points table due to an inferior net run rate compared to several other teams with the same number of points.
