I don’t think he will retire this year, he can play more for at least 3-4 years: Shane Watson on MS Dhoni’s retirement rumours

Former Australian and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Shane Watson believes MS Dhoni is fit enough to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the next three to four years.

Last year, he delegated CSK’s captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja, but returned as captain midway through the season due to the team’s poor performance.

Everyone, from fans to experts, believes that this IPL will be Dhoni’s final. Shane Watson, on the other hand, believes that MS can continue playing for another three to four years due to his fitness and overall game.

Dhoni, 41, is preparing to lead Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming IPL season, which begins on March 31. Chennai will play the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) in the opener at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

“I heard that this is the last IPL of MS Dhoni but I don’t think. MS Dhoni can continue to play for the next three to four years. He is still very fit and batting and wicket-keeping really well,” Watson told ANI.

“His leadership is something that is as good as his game. His fitness and mind-reading of the game make him a good leader. His skills on the ground are awesome. He is one of the main reasons that CSK is successful,” he further said.
