Harshal Patel overtakes Yuzi Chahal to become the highest wicket-taker in a season for RCB

Harshal Patel is enjoying the best form of his life and it is quite visible in the manner that he’s picking up wickets on regular basis and today’s match against Rajasthan Royals was no exception.

After a great start provided by the openers, the Royals were looking to post a huge score. However, the Bangalore bowlers didn’t allow that to happen. The spinners provided some early breakthroughs and it was Harshal Patel, the household name of RCB’s death bowling, who once again proved his worth by picking up 3 wickets in the match. Two of them came in the 20th over of the innings.

This record was previously held by Yuzvendra Chahal, who had picked 23 wickets in the 8th edition of IPL.

Along with that he also broke the record for most wickets by an uncapped player in a season. This record was also previously owned by his teammate Chahal. With still three matches to go, Patel must be eyeing the record of most wickets in one season of IPL. The current holder of this record is CSK’s Dwayne Bravo, who picked 32 wickets in the 2013 edition of IPL.

Harshal Patel is the current purple cap holder of this season with a massive wicket lead against the second-place contender Avesh Khan.
