Harshal Patel is going through a spell of his life as he picks 3 more wickets to add to this tally for the IPL 2021. With these wickets now he has overtaken Jasprit Bumrah to become the highest wicket-taking Indian in an IPL. He now has 29 wickets to his name in this season while Bumrah’s record was 27.
RCB was playing SRH for their 13th match of the season, and despite taking an early wicket, the Hyderabad team had made a considerable comeback. After the wicket of Abhishek Sharma who was promoted up the order, Captain Williamson walked in and started building up a partnership with Jason Roy who was looking good too. Together the duo added 70 runs for the second wicket. Feeling the threat, Kohli decided to bring back his best asset and like always it paid off. Harshal in his second over’s third ball, bowled a great off-cutter to clean up Kane Williamson. It’s a rare sight to see Williamson struggle, but when Patel is at his best, he can deceive even the best.
Later, he came to ball another spell in the death overs and bowled 2 overs. In those overs, he picked up two great wickets and gave away just 15 runs. In his spell of 4 overs, he conceded 33 runs and picked up 3 crucial wickets.
Patel is very close to breaking the record of Dwayne Bravo, for most wickets in a season. Dwayne Bravo took 32 wickets in the 2013 season for CSK.
Mr. Purple Patel doing what he does best. 🙌🏻🙌🏻
