In IPL match between the Gujarat Titans and the Rajasthan Royals, pacer Mohammed Shami was has bowled three overs off his four over spell in the powerplay itself. It was a risky move by the Titans’ skipper, as Shami is a key bowler for the team, and his overs are crucial in the middle and death overs.
Shami started off his spell in a fantastic fashion, picking up the wicket of Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler. He bowled a brilliant delivery that swung in sharply and hit the off-stump, resulting in Buttler’s dismissal for a duck.
Shami was however unlucky not to pick up the wicket of Devdutt Paddikal, as an easy catch was dropped by Shubman Gill at slips.
It was a bold move by the Gujarat Titans’ skipper to bowl Shami for three overs in the powerplay, as it could have backfired if Shami had leaked runs.
