Match 35 of IPL 2025 between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals witnessed an unexpected animated exchange between veteran pacer Ishant Sharma and Delhi batter Ashutosh Sharma. The moment unfolded at the end of the 19th over, when Ishant bowled a short delivery that lobbed off Ashutosh’s shoulder and was collected by the keeper. GT appealed for a caught behind, but the umpire signaled leg byes, ruling it not out.

As Ishant walked past Ashutosh after completing his spell, he confronted the batter, seemingly questioning the legitimacy of the umpire’s call. In response, Ashutosh pointed to his shoulder, indicating where the ball had struck. What followed was a cheeky exchange, with Ishant visibly saying, “Jhuth bol raha hai bhen*h*d,” as caught on camera.

While it remains unclear whether the banter was humorous or heated—given Ishant was battling clear signs of dehydration and physical exhaustion—the incident quickly lit up social media.

One popular Twitter user, @Crickaith, posted a meme version of the dialogue, dubbing the moment “Sharma vs Sharma 🔥.”

 

 

Despite the drama, Ishant had the last laugh as he finished with figures of 1/19 in 2.5 overs and claimed the wicket of Donovan Ferreira. The Titans were also penalized for a slow over rate, leading to fielding restrictions in the final over.
