Glenn Maxwell scores his 3rd IPL 2021 fifty in a row as RCB reach a competitive count against PBKS

When Maxwell came to the crease his side was suffering at the score of 69 in the 10th over, and when the Aussie allrounder departed in the 20th over, his side was well above the par score with 163 on the board.

Building on his great from the other match against Rajasthan Royals, Maxwell scored another fabulous fifty against Punjab Kings in the 48th match of the VIVO IPL. The numbers won’t suggest how hard it was batting on a pitch like this. But Maxwell was just being himself as he slogged the bowlers left and right to bring up his half-century.

After the disappointing loss suffered by RCB in the reverse fixture, between the two teams. This match had a great buildup. Especially because Punjab is still in the hunt for a Playoff place and cannot afford to lose any game. Hence, when asked to the ball first, KL Rahul and his men took to the task brilliantly. After the powerplay, in which RCB scored 55 runs, they could only manage to accumulate just 11 runs in the next over. Moises Henriques had a spell of a lifetime in which he only conceded 12 runs and took 3 important wickets.

Maxwell came to the crease at a time when his team was struggling to score even singles, and he decided to play his own game. It was in the 13th over when Maxwell decided to open his arms, and smoked Harpreet Brar for 15 runs. This gave his innings some momentum and just two overs later he took on the in-form Ravi Bishnoi to add another 13 runs in just 3 balls. He brought up his 50 in the 18th over.
