Former Indian captain MS Dhoni becomes the first captain to lead a side in 300 T20 matches

MS Dhoni has been a household name in the cricketing world for a long time now. He has been around long enough to be considered a legend, and his records suggest just that. In IPL alone he has been the most successful captain according to win percentage. Dhoni tops the list as he has led his side to win in 60.85% of matches, they have played. On Friday, he added another feather to his hat, as he became the first captain in the history of the game to captain in 300 T20 games, as he led his team to a record 9th final in IPL.

The final between the two teams was all set to be a riveting contest. On one hand, it was Chennai Super Kings who was making a comeback to the playoffs after missing out to qualify for the first time in last yearā€™s edition. While on the other was the dark horse of the season Kolkata Knight Riders, who had qualified for a final after seven years gap. KKR came into the game with an edge against their rival, as they had won the previous two finals they played against CSK. The Chennai team however came in the game with a point to prove.

Apart from Dhoni, Jadeja, Rayudu, and Faf du Plessis are also achieving milestones of completing 200, 175, and 100 matches respectively for the franchise.
