Mumbai Indians’ campaign in the ongoing season of IPL 2023 got off to a rocky start with back-to-back defeats, but the team has since found its winning momentum with three consecutive victories. In their latest match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the five-time champions emerged victorious by 14 runs, thanks in part to the impressive performance of Australian all-rounder Cameron Green.
Sachin Tendulkar, regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time, set many records during his illustrious career. Now, his son Arjun Tendulkar is making his own mark in the world of cricket.
Arjun made his debut for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 and has been retained by the franchise for IPL 2023. For the second time in a row, he was given the opportunity to showcase his talent in the IPL match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday night.
Arjun had bowled two overs for 14 runs before MI captain Rohit Sharma held him back for the final over of SRH’s chase. With 20 runs required off the last over, Arjun held his nerve and conceded just five runs to help his team secure a 14-run win.
The young left-arm pacer picked up his maiden IPL wicket in the match, and his proud father Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to express his joy. “Finally, a Tendulkar has an IPL wicket! Congratulations Arjun,” Sachin tweeted.
A superb all-round performance by Mumbai Indians once again. Cameron Green impressed with both bat & ball. Ishan & Tilak’s batting is as good as it gets! The IPL is getting more interesting every day. Great going boys!💙
