
Chris Gayle is all set to join the Kings XI Punjab squad in UAE.The Jamaican batsemen will be able to reach in time after he submits two negative tests and fly out of his country. Earlier, there had been reports that the batsmen attended a birthday party organised by the world-class runner Usain Bolt – who tested positive for COVID-19.Gayle has been a crucial part of the franchise, helping them score big totals.
He posted Instagram stories of himself getting a swab test done to be able to take a flight to UAE.
On arrival, he will be tested again at the airport and will adhere to a six-day quarantine. He will further be tesed thrice before joining the squad. Only those who test negative are allowed to start training.
He was supposed to take part in the Caribbean Premier League but opted out due to personal reasons. The Kings XI squad flew to UAE last week and have been quarantined ever since.
With the bio-bubble in place, the teams are in strict quarantines and regular testing is being done before they are allowed to train as a team.
The franchises are almost done with their quarantine period and are likely to start training as soon as final testing has been done.
