Dream11 IPL MI VS KXIP 2020: MI defeat KXIP by 48 runs

Mumbai Indians defeated Kings XI Punjab on the bank of a strong performance in all three department

Mumbai Indians were able to shrug off Kings XI Punjab comfortably as they won the 13th match by 48 runs. MI was the dominant side as they outplayed KXIP in all three departments.

KXIP won the toss and asked MI to bat first in Abu Dhabi keeping in the dew factor in mind. Opener Rohit Sharma and Quinton De Kock has the worst possible start as De Kock was out without opening his account in the first over itself. Sheldon Cottrell was the one who made life difficult for the MI batsman as his bowling figures read 4-1-20-1.

MI looked set to score not less than 160 having lost skipper Rohit Sharma who scored a valuable 70. However the big West Indian Kieron Pollard and all-rounder Hardik Pandya had other plans. Both these batsmen muscled the KXIP bowlers in the death overs to take them to 191/4.

In reply, KXIP kept losing wickets at regular intervals and failed to build a partnership. Keeper-batsman Nicholas Pooran looked in solid touch for his 44. However with no support from the other end, he mistimed under pressure and lost his wicket. Speedster Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers as his figures read astronomical numbers 4-0-18-2.

Kieron Pollard was adjudged the man of the match. This win saw MI reach the top of the pile while KXIP slipped to 6th position.
