Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and opted to bowl first against Kolkata Knight Riders. The openers did a decent job and did not lose wickets early. Although after having a good opening partnership the openers were unable to score big runs for the side. Rahul Tripathi played a short but sweet inning but the management would have expected them to play longer and be the anchor to the batting line up. T Natarajan was the performing bowler and took 2 wickets for SRH.

None of the batsmen was able to convert their start into a big total, another match and Russel was unable to perform. Priyam Garg was excellent on the field and took two exceptional catches for SRH. Vijay Shankar was also very economical in his spell. Kolkata Knight Riders scored runs 163 at the end of 20 overs for SRH to chase.
