The first innings of the 24th match between Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders comes to an end as the latter finish with 164 runs on the board for the loss of 6 wickets.
KKR lost a couple of early wickets in the innings, however opener Shubman Gill played a brilliant knock scoring 57 runs in just 47 balls ensuring that the Knight Riders did not lose their way. Captain Dinesh Karthik played a vital innings at the end scoring 58 runs in just 39 balls smashing 10 boundaries taking the total past 160 which seemed nearly impossible at one stage.
The young guns stood out for KXIP with the bowling as Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh both picked up a wicket each and conceded 25 runs each as well in their 4 overs. Veteran bowler Mohammad Shami also picked up a wicket.
KXIP have a batting lineup in form with KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal and Nicholas Pooran and they will be looking to chase down the target in their 20 overs.
