After his powerful hitting and cheekily skillful wicketkeeping, MS Dhoni in recent times has become famous for his witty one-line replies. It all started in the last league game of IPL 2020 when a commentator asked the veteran whether his career as a CSK player is finished, and his reply broke the internet. A very similar thing happened on Friday night when commentator Harsha Bhogle asked Dhoni what he thinks of the legacy he is leaving behind. The reply by captain cool awed the audience and once again proved how witty he is.
The match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders definitely was a belter as both the teams took a jab at each other to snatch the victory. It was CSK who landed the first few blows in the first innings in the form of great innings by du Plessis and Mooen Ali, to post the total of 192. KKR counterpunched in the second inning with a great start with the bat in hand. However, they were strangulated towards the end of the inning and CSK’s grip tightened and tightened until KKR was defeated.
MS Dhoni might not have played a pivotal role in the match, as he did in the first Qualifier when he helped his team cross the line in the last over. But that does not even come close to determine how vital his presence on the field is. Therefore, after Dhoni had replied vaguely about his next season’s plans, everyone was waiting for some clarity and it did come, when Dhoni replied to Harsha Bhogle by saying, “Still haven’t left behind.” this assures fans that they will be seeing captain cool in actions next year.
