Tonight, the IPL 2023 match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) will take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The rivalry between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals is one of the oldest and most exciting in the history of the IPL. Their battles on the field have always been a great source of entertainment for the fans. Tonight’s match is expected to be just as thrilling as the previous encounters between these two teams.
After sustaining a hamstring injury during Chennai Super Kings’ IPL 2023 match against Mumbai Indians, it seems likely that pacer Deepak Chahar will be out of action for an extended period. Chahar felt discomfort in his leg after bowling five balls in his opening over at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday night. After consulting with the team physio, he bowled one more ball before leaving the field and not returning for the rest of the match.
“Chahar will undergo scans to identify the extent of the injury once the team returns to Chennai. The Chennai Super Kings medical staff are closely monitoring both the players and will provide all support necessary for their recovery,” the CSK said in a statement.
“Chennai Super Kings swing bowler faces an extended period on the sidelines after picking up a suspected hamstring injury…,” a Cricbuzz report said.
According to the report, it is expected that Chennai Super Kings will also have to play without their key player Ben Stokes for at least a week due to a minor toe injury. Stokes was forced to sit out of the match against Mumbai Indians and is unlikely to participate in the home game against Rajasthan Royals on April 12. However, there is a possibility that he may return for the away fixture against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 17.
