After producing an embarrassing bowling performance against the mighty Rajasthan Royals on Saturday, it was time for Mahendra Singh Dhoni to make some huge changes to his side against Delhi Capitals, in what will be a mouth-watering clash at the top of the table. Chennai Super Kings want to finish at the top of the table when they take on Delhi Capitals on Monday. They were previously shunned by Rajasthan Royals as they lost by 7 wickets. A magnificent century from Ruturaj Gaikwad lifted the confidence inside the CSK camp, but the bowlers let down in their performance, as they were trashed in all areas of the stadium.
CSK decided to rest Dwayne Bravo and picked Sam Curran after coming back from injury. He provides bowling and batting skills to the team which is a major boost but now he will surely pick Bravo over him. They might even give Imran Tahir a chance in this game, to rest their best bowlers.
Here is the predicted playing XI for the Chennai Super Kings against Delhi Capitals which are as follows:-
1) Faf du Plessis
The South African opener was involved in a bad collision alongside Mustafizur Rehman and might be sitting out for the game, but seeing his form and performance he should get a nod for today’s game.
2) Ruturaj Gaikwad
The inform opener is at its best form as he provides consistency and scores big for the team. After his century against RR, he will look to go with the same momentum against DC today.
3) Moeen Ali
The England all-rounder will provide additional assistance to the batting unit as he is excellent with the bat and bowl and could play a key role in the game.
4) Suresh Raina
Despite being in bad form in the recent few games, he might still be given a chance to play an important inning against Delhi Capitals.
5) Robin Uthappa
After qualifying for the playoffs, he might be given a chance to show his batting after a few players will be rested for the game.
6) MS Dhoni
Dhoni had managed to score only 66 runs in this year’s tournament, despite that his leadership has helped Chennai win in crucial situations. He would like to boost CSK’s chances to finish at the top of the table.
7) Mitchell Santner
With Dubai being a slow pitch in the last few games, the inclusion of Mitchell Santner will be a key role for the team. He will provide spin and play with the bat as well.
8) Ravindra Jadeja
The Indian rounder has been in some good form and will be looking to provide a similar performance against DC.
9) KM Asif
He bowled well against Rajasthan Royals and is likely to get another chance over Deepak Chahar.
10) Shardul Thakur
The Indian bowler will be looking to provide big wickets against Delhi Capitals as his bowling will be key in the middle overs.
11) Lungi Ngidi
After Jose Hazlewood’s embarrassing performance, the South African pacer will mostly be replacing him in today’s game.
