CSK vs DC IPL 2021: Robin Uthappa, Ruturaj Gaikwad lead CSK to their 9th IPL final

Both Uthappa and Gaikwad scored their half-centuries at a quick rate. Together they added 110 runs for the second wicket. This bolstered the inning and provided a cushion for the coming batters

There’s no better and bigger love story than that of Chennai Super Kings and IPL finals. After beating the Delhi Capitals by 4 wickets and 2 balls to go, Chennai Super Kings have now entered into the 9th IPL Final. They have broken their own previous record to achieve this feat.

After a not-so-good bowling performance, in the first innings where Delhi Capitals posted a competitive total of 172, with help of great innings by Prithvi Shaw and their captain Rishabh Pant, CSK came into bat hoping for a good start. But things didn’t quite go their way, they lost Faf du Plessis in the very 4th ball of the innings, and with Uthappa in as the new batter, it felt as it wasn’t going to be that easy of a task for CSK. However the CSK batters were out there to prove a point, and they batted very sensibly. Picking up the right shots and right bowlers, they quickly counterattacked the pace bowling of Delhi Capitals.

After Uthappa’s wicket, Gaikwad continued to play his free-flowing shots and scored 70 of 50 balls. With this, he also completed 600 runs for CSK and brought his team ever so close to chasing the target.
