CSK vs DC IPL 2020 Match 7: Match build-up and predicted lineups

Delhi Capitals got off to a perfect start in their first game against the Kings XI Punjab, beating them with ease in the super over after the game was initially tied as both the teams matched their totals of 157 at the end of their respective 20 overs. Captain Shreyas Iyer was in a great knick in the last as well as Kagiso Rabada who was brilliant in his 4 over spell topping it up with his effort in the super over, claiming both the wickets of the Kings XI for just 2 runs in the first 3 balls. Marcus Stoinis was the standout performer for the Capitals, scoring a quick fire half century with bat taking the Capitals past 150 and picking up a couple of wickets in the final over including the big one of Mayank Agarwal, defending just 1 run in the last 3 balls.

Chennai Super Kings have already played their first two games, winning the first one against Mumbai Indians on the opening night, followed by a loss against the Rajasthan Royals at Sharjah. Captain MS Dhoni was criticised for his late arrival at the crease and not taking the responsibility of leading the chase, as CSK fell 17 runs short while chasing the target of 218 runs set by the Royals. Lungi Ngidi will also be under heavy scrutiny from the fans conceding 30 runs in his final over of CSK’s bowling innings which eventually took the Royals past the 200 mark. Opener Murali Vijay would also have to step up his game after being accused for his lack of aggressiveness at the top of the CSK batting order.

Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo still struggle for fitness ahead of this game and are expected to be out for a while for CSK. On the other side of the coin, Ravichandran Ashwin picked up a shoulder injury in his first game with the Capitals on Sunday and he is doubtful for the game.
