Chennai Super Kings is the only team which has not started training for the IPL 2020. The teams reached UAE and had to undergo a compulsive 6-day quarantine before they could train as a group. Only after returning negative COVID-19 tests, they were allowed outside their hotel rooms.

While all the other teams submitted negative tests, Chennai Super Kings hit a roadblock. 13 members including 2 players tested positive for COVID-19. The positive tested members are quarantined outside the bio-secure bubble and will be tested only after 14 days.

While all the other members were put in an additional 7-day quarantine, they are all set to hit the nets this Friday. All the others have been tested yet again and have been tested negative and have to undergo another final test before training. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan had earlier said that the 3-time champions will be ready to play the opening match of the season if required. IPL 2020 will be held in the UAE from September 19 to November 10.

BCCI is yet to announce the schedule of the tournament as it got delayed after the CSK squad had COVID-19 cases. Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are anticipated to play the opening match as they were the finalists last year.
