Can Yash Thakur bag his maiden IPL hattrick?

Yash Thakur is on the cusp of achieving a rare feat in cricket as he took two wickets in two balls during a thrilling encounter against Punjab Kings (PBKS). Thakur had dismissed Jitesh Sharma in his previous over and then went on to get Rahul Chahar out in the very next legal delivery, putting him on the verge of a hat-trick.

The dismissal of Jitesh Sharma, who had played a quickfire knock of 24 runs, was followed by the wicket of Rahul Chahar, who was dismissed without troubling the scorers.

Rahul Chahar was the new man in for PBKS, and Thakur bowled a very full delivery to him. Chahar went for the big hit, but failed to clear the man at long-on and ended up hitting it off the cue-end of the bat. The ball didn’t travel much distance, and Hooda took a comfortable catch in the deep.

Despite the excitement of being on the verge of a hat-trick, Thakur kept his composure and finished the over without conceding any further runs. He still has an over left in his spell and has a chance to make history by taking a hat-trick.

Jitesh Sharma’s wicket –

Jitesh Sharma had started off brilliantly, scoring quick runs and hitting three towering sixes. He was looking to build on his strong start when Yash Thakur bowled a low full toss from round the wicket. Sharma went for the big hit but mistimed it, resulting in a catch to Rahul at mid-off.

Yash Thakur had put in an excellent performance with the ball till that point and the wicket of Jitesh Sharma gave LSG a much-needed boost.
