The Indian squad for the WTC final will depart for England in three batches, allowing players to fulfill their IPL commitments before transitioning to the Test format.

The first batch is scheduled to fly out on May 23, immediately after the conclusion of the IPL league stage. Following this, the second batch will depart after the first two IPL playoff games on May 23 and 24. Finally, the last batch of players will leave on May 30, shortly after the IPL final takes place on May 28.

This staggered departure plan aims to minimize disruptions to the players’ IPL participation while ensuring they arrive in England with sufficient time to acclimate and prepare for the crucial WTC final.

To provide the team with valuable practice and acclimatization opportunities, the BCCI is planning to arrange a practice match for the Indian squad during their stay in the United Kingdom. This match will serve as a crucial warm-up ahead of the WTC final, allowing the players to fine-tune their skills and adjust to the English conditions.

The BCCI’s efforts to facilitate a practice match highlight their commitment to thorough preparation and ensuring the team is well-equipped for the challenging encounter against Australia.

The World Test Championship final, featuring India against Australia, is scheduled to take place from June 7 to 12 at The Oval.

The much-anticipated clash between two cricketing powerhouses promises to be a captivating contest, as the teams battle it out for the prestigious WTC title. With meticulous planning and strategic departure arrangements, the Indian team aims to optimize their preparations and deliver a stellar performance on the grand stage.
