Ashwin, Pant and other players in the Indian squad from the Delhi Capitals have reached Dubai for the second half of the IPL season

Delhi Capital players who were part of the Indian squad in England have reached Dubai for the resumption of the 2021 season of the IPL. Rishabh Pant, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma, Axar Patel, Prithvi Shaw and Umesh Yadav were tested on arriving in the country.

Delhi Capital players who were part of the Indian squad in England have reached Dubai for the resumption of the 2021 season of the IPL. Rishabh Pant, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma, Axar Patel, Prithvi Shaw and Umesh Yadav were tested on arriving in the country. They will undergo a six-day “hard” quarantine before joining the squad.

They have come earlier than they were scheduled to because of the cancellation of the fifth test at Manchester between England and India due to a COVID outbreak in the Indian camp which affected head coach Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharat Arun, fielding coach R.Sridhar, main physio Nitin Patel and the junior physio Yogesh Parmar.

Delhi Capitals tweeted that the Delhi Capitals players who were members of the Indian team for the Test series against England landed safely in Dubai on Sunday, 12 September 2021 for the second half of the IPL 2021 season. They added that the players will be undergoing a hard six-day quarantine as per IPL protocols during which they will be tested thrice. After that, the players will join the rest of the Delhi Capitals squad, who are already part of the bio-bubble.

They also confirmed the names of the Indian players like Pant, Ashwin that are going to join the squad after their quarantine. Capitals also confirmed that they got tested on arrival in the country.

The Capitals were leading the points table when the tournament stopped at the start of May due to a COVID outbreak in the bio-bubble in India. They won six of their eight games, accruing 12 points in their campaign but Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore are also hot on their heels. The remainder of the 2021 IPL season will start on the 19th of September.
