Andy Flower appointed head coach for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mike Hesson’s tenure ends

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have confirmed Andy Flower as their new head coach, succeeding Mike Hesson, whose contract with the franchise has concluded. Flower, renowned for his coaching successes in international and franchise cricket, brings a wealth of experience to RCB.

The franchise has also decided not to renew the contracts of Director of Cricket Operations Mike Hesson and Head Coach Sanjay Bangar after an internal review. Flower’s appointment is seen as a well-informed decision by the RCB, known for diligent selection processes. The team looks forward to building on their roster of players and aiming for new heights under Flower’s leadership.

“I recognise the work put in by Mike Hesson and Sanjay Bangar, who are two coaches I respect, and I look forward to the challenge of taking RCB to new heights. I’m particularly excited to be reunited with Faf. We have worked very well together in the past and I look forward to forging our partnership and relationship into something bigger and better.”
