
Ajinkya Rahane, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batsman, expressed his elation after securing his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title and credited the CSK management and MS Dhoni for their support. Rahane highlighted the freedom he received from the team and the trust shown by the management.
Speaking to the broadcaster following CSK’s victorious five-wicket win over the Gujarat Titans via the DLS method, Rahane expressed his gratitude towards the CSK management and specifically mentioned the influential role of MS Dhoni, fondly referred to as “Mahi bhai.” He mentioned that the team had assured him of their complete support and defined his role before the season began. Rahane appreciated the hands-off approach of the management, emphasizing the significant level of freedom that CSK provides to its players.
Reflecting on Ambati Rayudu, who bid farewell to the T20 league after playing his last match on Monday, Rahane praised him as a remarkable character. He described Rayudu as intense, hardworking, and a great team player. Rahane also highlighted Rayudu’s exceptional performance in the final match, expressing his happiness for the accomplished cricketer.
Moeen Ali, the all-rounder for CSK, also shared his elation following the team’s fifth IPL title. He expressed his delight at defeating a strong opponent on a challenging pitch, describing it as an amazing feeling. Ali took the opportunity to commend captain MS Dhoni, stating that he continues to learn from him, particularly in handling players and various match situations.
