IPL: Virat Kohli has different personalities on and off the field claims Australian star Adam Zampa

Adam Zampa is an Australian leg-spinner who has made a name for himself as a lethal wicket-taker when it comes to white-ball cricket, be it with his national team or various franchises that he has represented over the years in T20 cricket. Adam Zampa was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the auction ahead of IPL 2020. Adam Zampa was a part of the Rising Pune Super Giants squad when they were runners up in the 2017 edition of the IPL.

In an interview during the IPL 2020 tournament in UAE, Zampa praised his RCB captain Virat Kohli and opened up about the fantastic and jovial relationship they share off the pitch. He also said that Kohli is a very different personality off the field and not the usual aggressive leader he depicts on the field. “Virat Kohli is totally different person off the field. You see his aggression and competitive side on the field but he is actually the most chilled out guy and lovely person off the field. He’s the kind of guy (that) as soon as he walks across that line, he’s a competitive beast. I saw it first hand playing with him, there’s two different versions of him and that’s the weight of expectation he has on himself to Perform for India.”

Zampa also said that Virat Kohli is a really funny character off the field and is constantly cracking jokes and feeding off other people’s energy. “He’s (Virat Kohli) actually one of those guys he’s a very easy laugh you can say the worst joke in the world and he’ll laugh his head off. On the field Virat Kohli is very competitive but off the field he’s a lovely guy and very chilled out. He’s had enough of me by the end of it trying to make him laugh until his cheeks were swollen.”
