IPL 2023: Top 5 players sold in mock auction

Cameroon Green was sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad in mock auction for 20 crore.

The IPL 2023 mini-auction is just hours away. The auction will be conducted on 23rd December in Kochi. The players who will be presented in the auction in front of the franchises’ owners are excited to see their new teams. All the 10 franchises have already announced their retained players list and the players who didn’t get the retention will be presented in the Auction tomorrow.

The Indian Premier League’s (IPL) new season (2023) expected to start next year in April. BCCI has however decided to complete the auctions as early as possible. Ahead of this mini-auction, a mock auction was conducted which was telecasted on Jio Cinema. Some cricket experts came together and conducted a mock auction on Thursday, 22nd December.

Top 5 players sold in mock auction: 

1. Cameroon Green: The Australian middle-order batter had a highest bid. Cameroon Green got sold for 20 crore to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Scott Styris was representing the team (SRH) in the mock auction.

2. Sam Curran: The young English all-rounder got sold for 19.5 crore to none other than his former team Chennai Super Kings (CSK). CSK is expected to make a bid for the all-rounder in the mini-auction tomorrow.

3. Ben Stokes: The English Test team captain got sold for 19 crore to Punjab Kings (PBKS). Former England captain Eoin Morgan was representing Punjab Kings in the mock auction.

4. Ocean Smith: The West Indies’ all-rounder goes to Mumbai Indians for the price of 8.5 crore. Anil Kumble was representing Mumbai Indians in this mock auction who made the last bid for the player.

5. Mayank Agarwal: Mayank Agarwal got sold for 6.5 crore in the mock auction. The former Punjab Kings’ batter bought by Scott Styris who was representing Sunriser Hyderabad.
