
IPL 2022 – With mega auction around the corner, many franchises have released their best players like Suresh Raina, Chris Gayle, Shreyas Iyer, Faf Du Plessis, and Shubman Gill from the team. After 2011, this will be the second time when the IPL governing body scheduled 74 games across the 10 teams.
Lucknow and Ahmedabad franchises are two new teams added to the format. All the teams will 7 games at home and 7 games away from the knockout stage. Former KKR batsman Gambhir has already been appointed as the mentor for the Lucknow franchise stated by his owner Sanjiv Goenka.
Ahead of the mega auction, KKR has released some of the quality players from the team. Shubman Gill, Eoin Morgan, and Rahul Tripathi have been released. But KKR has retained players like Sunil Narine and Andre Russell once again to provide a boost to the lineup.
Earlier in an interaction, asked Gill if there is one franchise for which he wants to stay with it forever. Gill addressed if ever the opportunity to make the choice he would like to play for KKR forever, reports PTI.
“The kind of communication and attachment with KKR franchise, it’s really special for someone like me,” Gill said.
“When you play for the franchise you want to be the part for as long as you can. If opportunity I would like to play for KKR forever,” Gill narrates.
Having played 58 games in IPL and scored 1417 runs at a strike rate of 123.00. Kolkata knight riders brought him at the base price of 1.8 crores in 2018. It will be interesting to find which franchise goes for Shubman Gill, even the two new teams have the option.
