IPL 2022: “RCB has always been dependent on the top three,” says Ajit Agarkar

Ajit Agarkar slams the weakness of the RCB managing committee and mistakes ahead of the mega auctions.

Former Indian pacer Ajit Agarkar has confessed his judgment on RCB’s management and their thoughts. Ajit Agarkar in the ‘IPL Auction Special’ episode of the show ‘Game Plan’ opens up about the RCB’s weakness of choosing players.

Ajit Agarkar suggests that franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore should not focus on one player or top three but should invest to build a proper team of 12, 13, or 14 players. Ajit Agarkar stated that RCB focuses on buying their top 3 players and investing a lot of money in them which as a result the team is not able to buy enough middle-order batsmen as shortage of money in the team’s purse leaves with no choice but to not buy enough players.

“So if you break the bank for one player, doesn’t matter how good he is, (he) will win you games but will never win you competitions,” suggests former pacer Ajit Agarkar.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have spent 33 crores on retaining their top three players. Virat was retained for the price of ₹ 15 crores, followed by one of the best all-rounders Glenn Maxwell was bought at the price of ₹ 11 crores, and Mohammad Siraj for ₹ 7 crores. The IPL Mega Auctions are set to be held on February 12 and 13 with 10 teams available to build their team perfectly balanced and cup-winning as the teams will be bidding on 590 players who are set to go under the hammer for the two-day mega auctions.
