Former Vice-Captain of Team India is having a rough patch of time in his international career as Ajinkya was dropped from the Test squad along with Cheteshwar Pujara which was realised by the fans that this could be an end of the era for the Indian Cricket Fraternity.
Virat stepped down as India’s Test skipper, and with Rohit taking up the charge, the management decided to go with Jasprit Bumrah as the Vice Captain of the team when selectors confirmed Rahane to be dropped from the team.
David Hussey on the other hand believes that Ajinkya Rahane has “5-10 years” of good cricket left in him and is confident with Rahane for the IPL 2022. The IPL 2022 could be a fresh beginning for Rahane.
He has been putting in lengthy hours in the KKR nets, and the team’s head coach, David Hussey, has praised his efforts. During a pre-match news conference, the former Australia cricketer stated that while some may write him off, Rahane still has ‘5 to 10 years of cricket’ in him.
“Rahane is a class player. He’s been a class player for over a decade for Indian cricket; he’s dominated for the Rajasthan Royals. I think he’s got at least 5 to 10 years of international cricket left in him. He’s a class player. He might not have scored the runs he wants to recently, but the way he is training and the way he works on his game, he’s going to score his runs, he’s going to dominate in the IPL,” Hussey said in the pre match press.
