Ahead of the Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni was seen training on the field with his teammates. Dhoni has been CSK’s captain since the inception of the franchise-based tournament. This is his first appearance on the field after the last IPL match in 2020 as he has retired from international cricket.
In the revised format of the IPL, there is no home and away match. No team will get home advantages. CSK will begin their campaign on April 10 by facing off Delhi Capitals. In the revised format, no team will travel more than thrice. All these safety measures are taken because of the pandemic.
In last season, Dhoni scored 200 runs at a strike rate of 116.27. Although, CSK missed out on the play-offs and it was the first time that CSK did not qualify for the play-offs.
The team was banned for two years (2016 and 2017) because of match-fixing related charges. The team made a comeback in 2018 and won that edition.
