Former Australia cricketer Brett Lee praised Anil Kumble stating that the former India captain will do great as the head coach of Indian Premier League (IPL) side Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). “Having someone like that (Kumble) in terms of the mix of the team and certainly the squad will be invaluable,” Lee said on Star Sports show Cricket Connected.

Anil Kumble had signed a two-year deal with the KXIP team last year and is set to take charge in the 13th edition of the IPL. So far, he has no prior experience of being a head coach in the IPL. KXIP’s role is his first in coaching for IPL. He, however, was part of the backroom staff of RCB and Mumbai Indians (MI) respectively as a mentor.
Anil Kumble is possibly the biggest match-winner that Indian cricket has ever produced. The right-handed bespectacled leg-spinner made his Test debut on this day, exactly 30 years ago against England.
