Former Pakistan cricket captain and renowned batsman, Inzamam-ul-Haq, has been appointed as the national chief selector for the Pakistan men’s cricket team by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

This marks Inzamam’s second term in this pivotal role, having previously held it from 2016 to 2019. During his prior tenure, Pakistan reached the pinnacle of Test rankings and secured victory in the 2017 Champions Trophy. Inzamam’s immediate responsibilities include selecting the team for the upcoming bilateral series against Afghanistan and the Asia Cup.

He was also named a member of the Cricket Technical Committee (CTC), which aims to elevate cricket’s status from grassroots levels. His appointment aligns with the PCB’s efforts to rejuvenate Pakistan’s cricket landscape, as the selection committee’s hierarchy and responsibilities are expected to be determined in consultation with the team’s current captain, Babar Azam.
