Zimbabwe has defeated Australia by 5 wickets after the brilliant knock of Brendon Taylor who scored 64 runs off 46 and remained unbeaten. Still after this victory Australia qualified for the next round.
  • 260/6 in 20 overs, the record was set by Sri Lanka in Group Match against Kenya which also the highest score in T20 World Cup History. In a match Kenya has managed to scored 88 runs only and lost the match 172 runs which is the biggest in terms of defeat.
  • Not many knows that India only played one game in Group stage round against Pakistan and qualified for the next round after defeating Pakistan in bowl out equation. The game against Scotland was abandoned.
  • Australia fast bowler Brett Lee took the first ever hattrick in T20 World Cup History when bowled three Bangladesh players on three consecutive balls.
  • India vs England match it was do and die game for the team India but eventually they qualified for the next round after defeating England by 18 runs. Yuvraj Singh in this match has scored fastest half century in just 12 balls along with 6 sixes in 6 balls off Stuart broad over.
  • The semi-final game between India and Australia was one of the biggest matches of the tournament where team India has ended the campaign of team like Australia who was in the prime era with the likes of Adam Gilchrist, Mathew Hayden, Brett Lee, Michael Clarke and Mitchell Johnson. In a match India batted first and posted 188 runs in the 20 overs. In reply Australia was in chase with Mathew Hayden and Andrew Symonds were batting but Wicket of Mathew Hayden who waa bowled by Sreesanth has triggered the momentum and Australia never recovered from that after and lost the match.
