Indian Premier League: Mega Auctions to be held on 12th and 13th February

The two-day mega auction for the year 2022 is to be held in Bengaluru on the 12th and 13th of February

The Indian Premier League 2022’s Mega Auction is all set to be held on February 12 and 13 as 1214 players are registered to sign in for the auctions and the battle of highs and lows of value and bids will be among the 10 teams. According to reports out of 1214 players, 896 are Indian while the rest of 318 players are overseas.

As per the statistic reports- Punjab Kings are left with ₹72 crores, Sunrisers Hyderabad with ₹68 crores, Rajasthan Royals with ₹62 crores, Royal Challengers Bangalore with ₹57 crores, Mumbai Indian, Chennai Super Kings, and Kolkata Knight Riders with ₹48 crores each and Delhi Capital has the lowest wallet before entering the mega auction ₹47.50 crores. The new teams – Lucknow will be entering the auctions with ₹60 crores and Ahmedabad with ₹53 crores.

33 players have been retained or picked as of now by all the franchises altogether ahead of the mega auction. The 8 existing franchises have retained 27 players which include some big names – MS Dhoni (CSK), Rohit Sharma (MI), Virat Kohli (RCB). While the two new teams have picked three players each ahead of the player’s auction. Lucknow preferred KL Rahul to lead the team while Hardik’s surprise call as a captain is been suggested by Ahmedabad.

The other big names apart from the veterans, who have been retained are Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Kane Williamson, Jos Buttler, and Glen Maxwell.

Surprisingly some of the experienced and valuable performers of the Indian Premier League will be missing out – Chris Gayle, Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Mitchell Starc, Sam Curran to name a few.
