Some good news for the Indian cricket team as pacer Mohammed Shami is back from his injury which he sustained in the third Test against England at Leeds. Virat Kohli’s men will be going to Manchester to play their fifth and final Test against England on Friday, 10th September. India is currently leading this five-Test match series by 2-1 after getting a stupendous victory in the fourth Test at The Oval. It was the first time in 50 years that India won the Test match in The Oval cricket ground. The Indian cricket team is just one game away from creating history by winning the Test match series in England after 14 years.
While playing in the fourth Test, some regular pacers of India, Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma missed the match as they sustained minor niggles in the third Test at Leeds. So, in place of Mohammed Shami, Shardul Thakur was named in the team who performed very well with the bat as well as the ball. Umesh Yadav was named in place of Ishant Sharma and he also made a great first appearance in this series after becoming the highest wicket-taker for India in the fourth Test (6).
After missing one Test, Shami is now fit for the fifth Test match which is to be played between 10th September and 14th September. It is a possibility that The Indian pacer could feature for this final Test at Manchester.
“Shami is fit. And when Shami is fit, he is an automatic choice,” a senior BCCI official privy said to PTI.
