Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is reportedly set to miss the entire season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 due to a long road to recovery. The Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer is unlikely to return to competitive cricket in the 2023 edition of the IPL, the world’s richest T20 league. Bumrah will not only miss the IPL 2023, but he is also doubtful of returning to the Indian squad for the final of the ICC World Test Championship.
According to ESPNCricinfo, Bumrah will not play for the Mumbai Indians in the 16th season of the Indian Premier League. According to the report, Bumrah will miss the IPL 2023 after being given the option of undergoing back surgery. After failing to recover from a back injury last year, Bumrah missed the Asia Cup and the ICC World T20 in Australia.
If India advances to the Test Championship final, Bumrah is expected to be unavailable for the summit clash on June 7 at The Oval.
