Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah officially ruled out of ICC T20I World Cup 2022

Due to a back injury, Jasprit Bumrah has been declared officially ineligible for the T20 World Cup in Australia. The BCCI stated in a media statement that the choice was made after careful consideration and consultation with the experts. After all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the tournament last month due to a knee ailment, he is the second significant Indian player to miss the event.

Bumrah recently was forced to withdraw from the ongoing T20I series against South Africa after claiming to be in agony during a pre-series training. He was referred to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for a thorough diagnosis after having scans in Trivandrum.
