From March 12 BBCI is willing to get fans back to the stadium for T20I series between India and England, which is a great positive news for cricket fans.
Speaking to news agency ANI, the BCCI official in the know of the development said that, “BCCI is trying to open the stadium for fans for the exciting T20Is series between India and England. While we are not sure on the numbers, the decision is to fill 50 percent of seats. However, the final decision lies with the government. Even if we have reconcile the new normal, safety is priority.”
The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association has already informed its members that first two matches between India and England at the MA Chidambaram Stadium will be played behind closed doors no tickets would be sold off for first two matches.
Secretary of TNCA, RS Ramasaamy wrote in a circular that, “ keeping in mind about Covid-19 pandemic, BCCI has decided nit take any kind of risks with the safety of players in the upcoming India-England match. All the players will undergo some strict Covid-19 tests before entering the bio-bubble.”
“As per BCCI directive, between February 5-17 i.e. first test will played from February 5-9 and second from February 13-17,the two two test is going to held at MA Chidambaram Stadium behind the closed doors, for the next two matches the teams will then move to Ahmedabad to play from February 24-28 and March 4-8.
Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and Ishant Sharma has returned to the squad after their leave and KL Rahul has been picked subject to fitness. While T Natarajan who played his debut match against Australia has not been selected for the match against England.
