Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur is facing a hefty fine amounting to 75 percent of her match fee due to her conduct during the third ODI against India at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, involved Harmanpreet smashing the stumps with her bat and engaging in a heated exchange with umpire Tanvir Ahmed after being given out leg-before. The match official confirmed that this was categorized as a level two offense.
For the on-field incident, Harmanpreet will be fined 50 percent of her match fee, while an additional 25 percent will be imposed for her behavior during the presentation ceremony. During the ceremony, she expressed dissatisfaction with the umpires. These actions will result in two demerit points for the on-field incident and one demerit point for her comments against the umpires during the presentation.
The situation escalated further when Harmanpreet reportedly made some remarks that led the home team skipper, Nigar Sultana, to withdraw from the official photo session.
