In his 500th international game and the 100th Test between West Indies and India, Virat Kohli scored a century, his first away Test hundred since 2018.
His innings of 121 runs led India to a strong position in the second Test in Port of Spain. Kohli’s partnership with Ravindra Jadeja, who also scored a half-century, added to India’s score of 373/6 at lunch on Day 2.
However, Kohli was eventually run out, ending the fifth-wicket stand worth 159 runs. Ishan Kishan displayed a positive intent, and R Ashwin joined him at lunch, ensuring India’s dominant position in the match.
