IND vs WI: Rohit Sharma’s fitness issue turns into war between critics vs fans as captain retires out

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was once again partnering with Suryakumar Yadav for a great start to the blues in the second innings but tables turned when Rohit decided to leave the field.

Rohit Sharma halted the game in between the 2nd over and called up the physiotherapists of team India. After having a long chat with coach and the management, the Indian captain decided to walk back to the pavilion, resulting in “Retired Hurt”.

Soon after Rohit’s retirement was confirmed by the officials, the twitter users commented on Indian captain’s fitness issues, while the Rohit fans decided to defend the skipper.

“Rohit’s fitness has been a concern for a while now. He has missed 8 of the last 14 WTC away tests, also missing the ODI series against SA and resting in the ODI leg this tour. Being the captain, he needs to work on his fitness. India cant always rely on their stand-in captains frequently,” said Mustafa Moudi of Cricbuzz

“Rohit’s fitness is a big concern, missed the ODI series already and again struggling with a bad back,” read a Twitter post.

While the most of the Twitterati were criticizing and trolling the Indian captain, some “RO-fans” defended the Indian skipper.

“To all those calling out Rohit Sharma’s fitness issues need to shut down before knowing what exactly is the reason. Also never easy to play consecutive games that too afternoon games and with all that drama that happened yesterday,” said a user.
