
In the first T20 International of Sri Lanka’s tour of India, Sri Lanka has won the toss and has decided to bowl first.
Sri Lanka’s captain Dasun Shanaka stated that Sri Lanka has been bowling well in the last few matches, and so the team has decided to back their strength and opt to bowl first. After losing the toss, Rohit Sharma informed that India was also looking to chase, as it is not sure how the Lucknow wicket will play.
During the pre-match pitch report, Russel Arnold informed that 180 could be a par score on Lucknow’s wicket.
Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli will not be a part of the T20 series as India has released both the batters from bio-bubble to give them some rest ahead of the Test series against Sri Lanka. Ravindra Jadeja is back from injury and will play in today’s match with Jasprit Bumrah, who was rested for the white ball series against West Indies.
Deepak Hooda was handed his maiden T20 cap today from skipper Rohit Sharma and will be making his T20 debut today.
India has won all five of its previous T20 matches, while Sri Lanka has just one the last T20I they played and has lost four matches before that in a row.
