Indian team is looking in a comfortable position on day 3 as Sri Lanka is chasing a huge target and lost two early wickets while doing that. Ravi Ashwin was the man who took the first wicket of the day and it was Kusal Mendis who was dismissed on 54 runs as the batter was playing some good cricket on day 2 and at the start of day 3 as well. However, the batter couldn’t make the most of the innings he played. After Ashwin dismissed Kusal, a 97-run partnership between him and Dimuth Karunaratne was broken. Just after that wicket, Angelo Mathews came to bat and he was been sent back to the pavilion by the star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for just a single run.
It was an amazing start by the Sri Lankan batters but didn’t last long as they have started to lose wickets now. The visitors are still 345 runs behind from victory which seems too difficult now as Indian bowlers have again started to dominate the game. Karunaratne who is playing on 39* requires a big innings to get close to the win and level this two-match Test series by 1-1.
Experts believe that this pink-ball Test against Sri Lanka won’t last long and could be over on day 3. As India needs only 7 wickets to clean sweep Sri Lanka in the Test series as well.
