IND vs SL Live: Rahul Tripathi makes his debut for team India as he replaces injured Sanju Samson in the playing XI

The hosts are up 1-0 despite making mistakes in the previous game, but Sri Lanka will believe they can win at a place where they have had success in the past. But to do that, they will need to defeat a young, vivacious Indian team led by Hardik Pandya.

As he prepares to make his debut wearing the blue jersey, Rahul Tripathi realises a lifelong dream. In the ongoing T20I series between India and Sri Lanka, Team India has managed to give the third T20I cap.

Tripathi will make his international debut for India in the same series as Shubman Gill and Shivam Mavi. This happened after Sanju Samson sustained an injury and was unable to participate in the remaining T20I games.

After suffering a left knee injury in the opening match in Mumbai, Sanju Samson has been ruled out of the final two Twenty20 Internationals against Sri Lanka. The wicketkeeper-batter stayed behind in Mumbai for scans and a specialist’s opinion, and was advised to rest and undergo rehabilitation rather than travelling to Pune with the Indian team.
