For the second Twenty20 International match against Sri Lanka on Thursday in Pune, Sanju Samson is doubtful for selections. Reportedly wicketkeeper batsman Samson did not travel to Pune with team India due to a knee ache. He remained in Mumbai to undergo scans.
Samson attempted a diving catch in the first over of the Sri Lankan chase on Wednesday at the Wankhede in Mumbai, which led to the injury. He caught the ball, but after falling to the ground, he was unable to hold onto it. He continued to field during the game, but it is understood that he later experienced swelling, which prompted a request that he seek medical advice.
